Mentoring Executives Through Change, Crisis, and Opportunity
Mentoring Executives Through Change, Crisis, and Opportunity
With over 50 years of lived experience as a human being, and over 30 years of professional experience in finance, treasury, leadership, and sustainability, I have guided organisations through transformation, growth, and challenge. As a Board Director & CFO, I have led cross-functional teams across finance, governance, treasury, operations, HR, and IT—developing and executing strategies that deliver strong commercial results and long-term value.
My career has taken me through crises such as the global financial crash and the COVID-19 pandemic — moments that tested not only business models but people. I have restructured teams, resolved deep-rooted challenges, and, most importantly, built cultures where individuals feel motivated, supported, and able to perform at their best. Along the way, I have managed complex investor and banking relationships and arranged over £1 billion in debt financing, including sustainability-linked loans — many of which were considered innovative at the time.
Recently, my focus has increasingly shifted toward human capital and sustainability — recognising that people and nature are the true engines of resilience and long-term success. This has deepened my commitment to ESG and sustainability, and strengthened my belief that profitability, purpose, and people are not in conflict — they can, and must, work in harmony.
Alongside this, I serve as a non-executive director with NGOs and charities, and as an advisor, mentor, and coach to leaders navigating the pressures and uncertainties of today’s world. My work is guided by values of authenticity, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership, with the aim of helping organisations grow while creating lasting impact for people, profit and planet.
As an international speaker on leadership and sustainability, I increasingly emphasise the changing role of human capital — now as critical as financial capital in shaping long-term success. I share lived experiences that inspire and empower others to lead with vision, integrity, and courage. Alongside this, I invest in projects in Tanzania that reflect this balance, creating lasting impact that benefits both people and planet.
I am guided by values of truth, authenticity, service, and inner conscience — principles deeply rooted in my devotion to Lord Shiva. In Lord Shiva, I see both stillness and compassion, a reminder that leadership is not about the power you hold, but about the humility you practice once you have it. My mission is to uplift people today, inspire the leaders of tomorrow, and help protect our planet for generations to come.
Neelkantha — inspired by truth, sacrifice, and service — inspires and equips leaders through speaking, strategic advisory, and executive coaching, guiding organisations to navigate transformation with purpose, elevate performance, and deliver lasting impact.
The name Neelkantha is inspired by Lord Shiva — who, in ancient wisdom, drank a deadly poison to save the world, earning the title “the blue-throated one.” This timeless story embodies sacrifice, truth, and service — values that guide everything we do. Lord Shiva is the eternal embodiment of truth, transformation, and universal balance.
